Deadly Typhoon Moves Toward Vietnam After Causing at Least 114 Deaths in Philippines
Before hitting in Vietnam, the storm system left a trail of devastation in the Philippines - with no fewer than 114 lives lost.
Filipino President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has declared a state of emergency - which is triggered by significant loss of life, widespread structural damage, and disruption to means of livelihoods and everyday existence for people in the affected areas.
This powerful storm, called in the region Tino, tore through the densely inhabited island of Cebu, flooding complete communities and sweeping cars through the streets.
Many thousands of people were forced to evacuate, others are resting in designated safe zones.

Disaster personnel have started operations as affected citizens find refuge in emergency centers.
The extent of this disaster has prompted large-scale rescue operations throughout the impacted areas.
