Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
