It is alleged that ex-President Donald Trump delivered a unambiguous message to Venezuelan leader Maduro: relinquish the presidency – and exit the country – immediately.
As stated in reports, the U.S. leader reportedly held a telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart, who is the focus of a sustained diplomatic offensive that has included a substantial deployment of warships off Venezuela's Caribbean coast.
"You have the chance to protect yourself and your family, but you must depart from the country immediately," Trump reportedly stated, promising guaranteed security for Maduro, his spouse and his son "only if he agreed to resign right away."
Nevertheless, the Venezuelan president allegedly refused to resign immediately and reportedly presented a series of requests, such as global amnesty and being allowed to give up civilian authority while keeping command of the military.
